Background
Tradition is the essence of where Gabriel gets his inspiration in creating his renowned paellas. Gabriel's ancestry can be traced to Portugal, Spain, and the Philippines, and the tradition of cooking authentic Spanish dishes was passed down to generations in the Diaz family. Gabriel's paella and Spanish catering are available for any event you are hosting; family and friend gatherings, corporate events, birthdays, weddings, and holiday parties.
During the early stages of the Covid-19 Pandemic, Gabriel wanted to find a way to develop a contactless catering app. The function should let the customer ask for a quote, book an event, access the menu, and see the catering process the day of in real-time.
Goals & Objective
Design a mobile prototype for users to check out the menu, about page, FAQ, and a request/managing a quote.
Redesign the logo for the company to keep the essence of it still alive.

Research
Researching different catering sites was challenging because most caters come from restaurants and not from self-made caters. Most of the menus did not have a picture or even a price for each plate. The amount of time looking for a prime example seemed to be inevitable. But from the ones I found, I accumulated some inspiration and guidance to make a user-friendly workable prototype.

The primary positive factors affecting the catering industry are a growing life cycle stage and demand from trade show and conference planning.
Urban populations is likely to have a busy lifestyle, they are more likely to demand catering services for special events. The urban population of the United States is expected to increase in 2021, representing a potential opportunity for the industry.
Today, 55 percent of people prefer ordering food without having to interact with a person.
In terms of market size in 2022, the caterers industry in the US is the 10th ranked Accommodation and Food Services industry by market size and the 439th largest in the US.
Define and Ideate
Provisional Persona
I created this provisional persona working for a corporate office in San Francisco as an assistant property manager. Cathy's job is to oversee all the clients in her building; she would host annual parties and book catering companies to serve food to show gratitude for all clients.
Creating the empathy map for Sabor de Gabriel helped me understand what a customer says, thinks, does, and feels before considering hiring a catering company.
Lo-Fidelity Wireframes
After hours of researching, I decided to add the "Party Time" tab feature. Going back and forth to the caterer takes you away from your event but say no more. The party time tab enables the user to oversee where the caterer is currently in the catering process, from prep work to clean up. With each progression, the user will receive live time notifications without even talking with the caterer.

Everyone wants to live a life of simplicity. Creating a mobile prototype for a catering company such as Sabor de Gabriel opened my eyes to create opportunities. Not only did I construct a booking prototype, but I also developed a task progression page. Think about having to be everywhere attending to your guests and no time for the caterers; look no further than on your mobile phone.
The following steps for Sabor de Gabriel are to start up a full photo gallery page where Gabriel and his customers share their photos of past events. Sharing their photos will create an opportunity to showcase and give Gabriel a beefed-up portfolio of his work for customers without hesitation and book him for their next event.
